What is Alternative Energy?
Alternative energy is a means of powering our vehicles and providing our homes and work places with power using un-conventional methods such as Solar Energy, Wind Turbines, and biodiesel that are not just cheaper than conventional methods but are also environmentally friendly.
Solar power is a popular means of providing electric; the solar panels absorb the sunlight which provides the necessary power to heat and light an average sized family home, the bigger the house, the more solar panels will be required, but compared to conventional electric, Solar power has proved time and time again that not only is it better for the environment it is also cost effective in the long term.
Wind Farms, once thought to spoil the countryside are now a common sight in most countries around the world, providing much cheaper electric to more homes and work places.
Vehicle manufacturers have successfully produced vehicles that run on electric as an alternative energy to petrol or diesel, however, how far you can travel before your vehicle needs charging will depend on the make and model. Also service stations will need to provide the necessary equipment to charge these vehicles. But the alternative energy on everybody’s lips these days is BioDiesel.
BioDiesel is the fuel of the future and can be produced using vegetable oil, and in recent years restaurants and cafes were only to happy to dispose of their used cooking oil to producers of BioDiesel. However, with the increase in fuel prices, more and more people are looking to produce their own fuel, and biodiesel equipment is readily available to assist in this process.
Don’t be fooled into thinking that biodiesel equipment is only for mass production by the big manufacturers; on the contrary, biodiesel equipment is available to the man on the street. Producing your own biodiesel for use in your own vehicles is much more cost effective than continuing to use petrol vehicles. The initial outlay when purchasing biodiesel equipment is sure to save you money in the long term.
